Local Farmer . . . Matwich Berry Farm

Here is a blog I wrote last year about Matwich Berry Farm. This was a great experience so I wanted to repost it to encourage everyone to stop by Matwich Berry Farm and pick some sweet, juicy blueberries. Believe me, you will enjoy it.

As I am writing this it is August and blueberry season is over so I will post this article again next year. In the meantime, I want to make sure to let people know that Matwich Berry Farm is a true treasure to have in our area. These blueberries are a step up from any I have found, especially in the markets.

About the end of June, I had the pleasure of picking blueberries at Matwich Farm. It was a great experience .The blueberries were the best I have ever had. The Matwich berries are, very large and very sweet. His bushes are loaded with big, plump berries. He provided plastic cups to hang around your neck keeping your hands free while you picked the berries. Those were a great time saver. We picked several pounds of berries in no time at all.

Ray Matwich was very helpful in advising me how to grow my own berries. He was a wealth of information, and we enjoyed our time there. However, the best part was eating the berries when we got home.

This would be a great summer outing especially for the kids.
